  Marcelle Maxcy Profile PhotoBirdie Marcelle Maxcy, 93, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at The Meadows. She was born September 5, 1932, in Itawamba County, to Olmas Marcus and Ruby Thorn Stevens. She was a salesclerk at Sears and JC Penny for many years. She taught Sunday School for over 40 years, mainly the Beginners Class. She was a longtime member of the Tremont First Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking for her family, and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a genuine Christian lady who loved helping people.

Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2, at the Tremont First Baptist Church with Bro. Jospeh Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Asbury Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one son, Ronald Maxcy (Samantha); two daughters, Shelia Garrett and Malinda North Senter (Jeff); one sister, Ann Miller; all of Tremont; eight grandchildren, Nathan Garrett (Danielle), Stacy Seay, Tasha Carter ( Brad), Amanda Morrow (Roger), Neal Garrett (Dreama), Cody North (Ashlan), Re’Anna Edwards, and Jordan Edwards; 18 great-grandchildren, Lana Garrett, Weston Garrett, Casen Carter, Cohen Carter, Natalie Garrett, Jackson Garrett, Maddux Garrett, Mylo Garrett, Kai Garrett, Diana Garrett, Aubrey Garmen (Kyler), Ben Seay (Madison), Carter Seay, Carley Seay, Kelly Morrow, Kinsley Morrow, Kirsten Morrow, and Tatum North; three great-great grandchildren, Crossley Garmen, Mia Seay, and Mason Seay.

She was preceded in death by her husband, O’Neal Maxcy; one brother, Mitchell Stevens (Martha); one son-in-law, Tony North; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of the Church.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the Tremont First Baptist Church.

The family wishes to thank The Meadows and their staff for the excellent care they provided to our family.
