Patsy Mae Linton Johnson peacefully entered the presence of the Lord and Savior on July 26, 2026.She was born on November 16, 1946, in Helena, Arkansas to the late Cecil and Mini Linton. She graduated from South Side High School in 1964, and it is there that Patsy met the love of her life, David Johnson. Together they shared 62 wonderful years of love, faith, and unwavering commitment. Together they built a loving home and were blessed with two beautiful children, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved husband, David Johnson; her children, Johnnie Johnson (Chasity) and Greg Johnson (Cindy); her grandchildren, Devon Johnson, Corey Johnson, Landon Johnson, and Carley Stovall; and her great-grandchildren, Penelope Johnson and Melody Johnson.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Cecil and Mini Linton; and her siblings, James Linton, Raymond Linton, Steve Linton, and Alice Forest.
Patsy was a faithful and devoted member of Parkburg Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in the children’s ministry for over forty years. Teaching children about Jesus was her calling and her greatest joy. Through Sunday School lessons, Vacation Bible School, and countless acts of love and encouragement, she planted seeds of faith that continue in the lives of generations today. Her greatest joy was serving the Lord, loving her family, and encouraging others through her words and prayer.
Patsy dedicated 25 years of faithful service to Lambuth University, where she retired after a career marked by diligence, kindness, and genuine care for those around her. She believed in serving others with excellence and left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Patsy lived her faith every day. She greeted others with kindness, prayed faithfully for those she loved, and always found joy in worshiping her Savior. One of her favorite passages of Scripture was Psalm 100:1–5, a reflection of the joyful heart with which she lived:
“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
These words beautifully captured Patsy’s life—a life marked by joyful service, steadfast faith, and complete trust in God’s goodness. Though her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the assurance that Patsy has been welcomed into the eternal presence of her Savior, where there is no more pain or sorrow. Her life was a testimony of God’s grace, and her legacy of faith, love, compassion, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A service to celebrate Patsy’s life will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary of Parkburg Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m., two hours prior to the service.
She will be remembered for her warm smile, her servant’s heart, her unwavering love for her family, and her lifelong commitment to sharing the love of Christ.
