Barbara Sue Branscome, age 84 of Florence, passed away on July 27, 2026. The visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia. The service will be at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Jeff Abrams and Bro. Austin Swinea officiating the service. The burial will be at Cherokee Memorial Park.
Barbara worked as a pediatric nurse for over 42 years and was a faithful member of Tuscumbia Church of Christ. She was an avid reader with a kind and generous heart. She found joy in encouraging others and was always thoughtful, often surprising family and friends with gifts to brighten their day. She loved her family especially her grandchildren, and leaves behind many wonderful memories.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hilliard and Lillian (Miller) Robertson; granddaughter, Sophie Branscome; and sister, Phyllis Ritchie.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, David Branscome; children, Brian Branscome, Randy Branscome (Tara), Carey Branscome (Krystal), Lisa Smith (Turnley); brother, Marvin Robertson; sisters, Peggy Massey, Lois Schwartz; grandchildren, Harper Branscome, Julia Branscome, Naia Smith, Reed Branscome, Henry Smith, Brady Branscome; and several nieces & nephews.
