ATHENS — Athens Main Street is excited to kick off its annual Downtown Athens Culinary Month, presented by Dream Key, beginning Saturday, Aug. 1.
Throughout August, downtown restaurants, coffee shops and specialty food businesses will be celebrating Culinary Month with special menu items, chef creations, limited-time offerings and exclusive promotions you won’t typically find on their menus.
“In just a little over three years, Athens Main Street has welcomed a dozen new dining options to its downtown district. Our downtown restaurants are the heart and soul of Athens,” said Athens Main Street Executive Director Tere Richardson. “Culinary Month is a celebration of the people, flavors and hospitality that make dining local such a special experience. We encourage everyone to spend August exploring, tasting and supporting the amazing restaurants that help our downtown thrive.”
From authentic international cuisine and Southern comfort food to handcrafted coffee, burgers, pizza, barbecue, sweet treats and local favorites, Downtown Athens is serving up something for every taste and every craving. Challenge yourself to visit as many participating locations as you can throughout the month and discover a new favorite along the way.
