Dennis Wayne Bogue, age 83, departed this earthly life on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services honoring Mr. Dennis’ life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Bro. Richie Lockhart officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 AM until service time, at the church. Due to the extreme heat, a brief graveside service will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
Born on October 23, 1942, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Mr. Dennis was the son of the late Wayne and Gertrude Pollard Bogue. He graduated from Portage Central High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. While attending college, he met the love of his life, Mrs. Wendy Wilde Bogue, who happened to live just a few apartments away. The two were united in marriage on April 16, 1971, and spent many happy years together in Indiana, where they raised their family and built a wonderful life together. Later, they relocated to Mississippi, where Mr. Dennis was employed as Production Manager with Built Rite Corporation, faithfully serving the company for twenty years until his retirement.
A devoted Christian, Mr. Dennis was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Throughout the years, he served as both an elder and secretary to the Session, always willing to serve wherever he was needed. His commitment to his community extended beyond the church as he also served on the Election Board and as Director of the Good Samaritan Club. In his spare time, Mr. Dennis enjoyed tending his garden, spending countless hours in his workshop, golfing with family and friends, and cheering on his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish, remaining one of their most loyal fans.
Although Mr. Dennis courageously battled Alzheimer’s disease during the final years of his life, the love he had for his family, his church, and his community never wavered. He leaves behind a legacy defined by hard work, unwavering faith, genuine friendship, and a deep love for those blessed to know him.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of fifty-five years, Mrs. Wendy Bogue; his three sons, Gary Bogue, David Bogue, and Scott Bogue (Tania); his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Brandon, and Anya Bogue; his siblings, Kathy Powers (John), Lorraine Bogue, and Craig Bogue; his sister-in-law, Jill Scheel; his brothers-in-law, Kris Wilde, Michael Wilde, and Patrick Wilde; along with his cherished church family, many dear friends, and numerous extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Bogue.
Serving as pallbearers will be his fellow elders of Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
