Dale Eugene Blessing, 83, of Giles County, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, at his home on Clear Creek Lake, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Dale was born on October 10, 1942, in Brookston, Indiana. He grew up on the family farm, where he raised beef cattle and tended crops. A proud member of 4-H and FFA, he cherished his many successes in the show ring at the White County Fair. Throughout his life, Dale was known for his unwavering commitment, strong work ethic, and personal integrity in everything he did.
After working as a bank teller at Brookston Bank for five years, Dale enlisted in the United States Army. He completed basic training at Fort Bliss, Texas, and served at duty stations in Hawaii and Germany. He proudly served in Vietnam and retired from the Army as a Master Sergeant (MSG). He continued his public service for twenty-three years with Army Civil Service at Fort Monroe, Virginia. In 2010, he retired as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Resource Management at the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). That same year, he moved to Clear Creek Lake in Giles County, Tennessee. He served as president of the Clear Creek Lake Association for 14 years and remained an active and beloved member of the lake community until his passing.
Dale was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Blessing; his mother, Juanita North Blessing Morgan of Brookston, Indiana; and his sister, Karla Blessing Kitterman of Crawfordsville, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Sandi Crabtree Blessing; his daughter, Missy (Terry) Locke of Lynnville; and his son, Jimmy (Lea) Shores of San Diego, California. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Dr. Trevan Locke of Silver Spring, Maryland; Dr. Sarah (Jake) Eskew of Lawrenceburg; and Carmen Shores of Irvine, California.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm with the funeral service to follow at 2:00pm in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home with Barbara Hughes Thomas officiating.
Burial will be at Lynnwood Cemetery in Lynnville, Tennessee with full military honors.
