Born and raised in Graben, Germany, on May 6, 1943, Eleonore lived a rich, vibrant life rooted in love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. It was in Hanau, Germany, where she met her husband, and together they welcomed their daughter, Manuela.
Eleonore dedicated her working life to the hospitality industry, serving others faithfully as a server and housekeeper.
She was a dedicated wife, a hardworking and nurturing mother, and a proud, doting grandmother and great-grandmother. Known for being fiercely feisty whenever it came to protecting and supporting those she loved, Eleonore was also the most giving and generous soul you could ever meet. She brought immense joy to her home through her cooking, especially when baking her infamous German Christmas cookies for her family and friends. She stood as a pillar of strength and an absolute inspiration for all the generations who follow after her, teaching everyone around her the true meaning of putting family first.
Eleonore is survived by her husband of 52 years, Retired SFC Orlando M. Boyd; her devoted sisters, Hildegard, Karolina, and Gisela; her brother, Erwin; her beloved children, son James (Christa), daughter Manuela, daughter-in-law Su, stepson Orlando L. (Sharon), and stepdaughter Crystal.
Her legacy and greatest achievements live on through her cherished grandchildren: Angelika (Reed), 1LT Jaylon M. Berrien (Riley), Christian (Jessica), Melanie, Chicaro L. (Kenyatta), Maurice (Christina), Sherman, Daniel, Roman, Ramona, and Diannes (Devyn), along with a blessing of too many great-grandchildren to name, and a wide host of dear friends who will miss her warmth deeply.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Genofeva; her brothers, Johann and Hermann; and her son, Bernhard, with whom she is now joyfully reunited.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
