Judy Carol Grissom, 75, of Leighton, Alabama, went to her heavenly home July 21, 2026. She was born on November 3, 1950.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Tommie Posey; her beloved husband of 58 years, Paul David Grissom; and her son-in-law, Paul Howard Peden.
She is survived by her children, Tina Peden, Kathy Berryman (Todd), and Shane Minor.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren; Emily Peden (Megan), Kayla Holder (Brady), Keri Traffanstedt (Dakota), Janna Carol Plunkett (Jake), Tyler Minor (Dallas), and Karson Berryman.
Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren: Bellah, Julianna, Madalyn, Jase, Jaxton, Taylor Ann, Tyanna, Jaycie, Hattie Jo, Deklin, and Josie.
She is also survived by her brother, Patrick Posey (Susie), and her sister, Pam Flanagan (Steve); numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members that will miss her dearly.
Throughout a remarkable nursing career spanning many years, Judy devoted her life to caring for and comforting others. With compassion, skill, and unwavering dedication, she served countless patients and their families, offering not only exceptional medical care, but also kindness, reassurance, and hope during life’s most difficult moments. Nursing was more than a profession to her, it was a calling that she fulfilled with grace, humility, and a servant’s heart.
Above all else, Judy loved her family. She found her greatest happiness in the time she spent with those she loved, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her gentle spirit, selfless heart, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.
Pallbearers will be Emily Peden, Tyler Minor, Jake Plunkett, Brady Holder, Todd Berryman, and Chris Posey. The honorary pallbearers will be Karson Berryman, and Dakota Harper.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A private graveside service will follow.
