Miss Sabrina Ann Martin was born on June 14, 1959, in Florence, Alabama, to the late Lula
Proby, Ben Walton, and her devoted stepfather, Homer Proby. She confessed hope in Christ
at an early age and was baptized, beginning a lifelong walk of faith. Sabrina was first a member
of Eleven Groven M.B. Church and later joined Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church under
the leadership of Pastor Parvin Neloms, where she remained faithful until her health prevented
her from attending.
Sabrina was known for her gentle spirit, warm smile, and the kindness she extended to
everyone she encountered. She lived a life marked by compassion, humility, and quiet strength.
She had a deep love for cooking for her family and friends, creating meals that brought
comfort and joy. She carried herself with elegance and grace, always presenting herself with a
beautiful sense of fashion. Her home reflected her spirit—clean, warm, and welcoming, a
place where love lived in every corner.
She was a loyal and dedicated employee of Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, where she served
faithfully for 20 years before retiring. Her caring nature and work ethic left a lasting impact on
coworkers and patients alike.
On July 15, 2026, Sabrina peacefully departed this life at her home in Sheffield, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula Proby, Ben Walton, and Homer Proby; her
daughters Quoshanna Martin and Selvia Martin; her sister Wanda Faye Martin; her brother
Derrick Martin; and her grandparents Ruth and Jeremiah Martin.
Sabrina leaves to cherish her loving memories two daughters, Stephenia Martin of Sheffield,
Alabama, and Veronica Martin of Huntsville, Alabama; one granddaughter, Shaquita Jackson
of Sheffield, Alabama; special granddaughters Braleigh Jackson and Kailyn Jackson; and
three sisters, Evelyn (Frank) Vinson, Maritta Roach, and Winnie Roach, all of Florence,
Alabama. She also leaves behind one surviving aunt, Maxine Parker, along with a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted circle of friends: J.C. Fields, Sherry
McCroskey, Patricia Bates, Debra Reeder, Glenda Cole, Teresa Garner, Debra Chandler,
and Vanessa Brown.
Though her earthly journey has ended, Sabrina’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of
those who knew and loved her. Her legacy is one of faith, love, and quiet resilience.
