Mr. Larry C. Medley age 87 of McMinnville, TN passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN with his son and daughter by his side. He was a member of the Hwy 56 North Church of Christ. Larry was born in McMinnville, TN on February 16, 1939 to Charlie Dolfard Medley and Essie Marjorie Boley Medley. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorcas Medley, infant son Gregory Clark Medley, son-in-law James L. “Jimmy” Basham, sister Lucille Medley, and brothers C.D. Medley, Tom Medley, Clyde Wayne Medley, and Doug Medley. Larry was a retired project manager with TDOT of 46 ½ years and a retired land surveyor of 40 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Basham and son Shane Medley; grandchildren Montgomery Basham and Will Basham, Carter Medley, Corbin Medley, and Brycen Medley; great-grandchildren Maverick Basham, Reagan Basham, Avery Kate Basham, and Max Basham; sisters Judy Watson, Kathryn Clingman, Cherry Fitzgerald, Melba Young, Kay Jennings, and Carolyn Taylor; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.
The funeral service for Larry Medley is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 24, 2026 at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Larry’s memory may be made to Relay for Life or to Tennessee Children’s Home.
