Shirley Marie Cash Scott of Boaz Age 89, April 26, 1937 – July 20, 2026
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennis Scott; her sister, Jean Hanson; her brothers, Dick Cash and Walter Cash; and her parents, Wesley and Rubye Cash.
Shirley Marie Cash Scott was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. As the oldest living member, she loved her church family and served the Lord faithfully throughout her life.
She especially loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them. Her love, encouragement, and example of faith will be remembered always.
She is survived by her children, Sandi Maltbie (Brealen) and Bennis Gene “Scottie” Scott (Michelle); her grandchildren, Matt Maltbie (Tori), Jake Scott (Rachel), Will Scott (Brianna), and Drew Scott; and her great-grandchildren, Mason Stephens, Josie Maltbie, Baker Scott, Miles Scott, McKenna Scott, and Tripp Scott.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law; Frank Scott (Linda), sisters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July22, 2026 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Bro. David Martin and Bro. Kevin Brooks will be officiating. Friends can visit from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the church. She will be laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt Maltbie, Jake Scott, Will Scott, Drew Scott, Mike Cash and Jon Cole.
