Wilma Smartt Henegar, age 86, died Tuesday, July 21, 2026. Born February 09, 1940, she was a member of Mt. Leo Church of Christ. She served as a coach and commissioner for Warren County youth t-ball, baseball, and softball for over 25 years. Wilma owned and operated Leslie’s Trophies for over 30 years. She was a true woman of God and devoted her life to Jesus. She taught Wednesday night church lessons and worked in the Bible correspondence room grading lessons. Wilma was well known in the community for her volunteer work at church and helping at NHC wrapping Christmas gifts for the patients and assisting with bingo.
She was the oldest daughter of the late Shelby Griffin and Tennie Tim Smartt. Her husband, James Leslie Henegar, preceded her in death on November 28, 2003. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister Shelbie Jean Kirby. Survivors include her children James Alan (Kim) Henegar of McMinnville, Margia (Scottie) Keel of McMinnville, and Rick (Alexis) Henegar of McMinnville, grandchildren Japheth Henegar, Bailey Henegar, Marlie Mahaley, Zachary Keel, Eli Henegar, and Zerek Keel great grandchildren Nolan, Wrenly, Oliver, and Theodore, sisters Linda Hudson and Myrna (Dan) Vickers, brother Dale Smartt, daughter-in-law Tina Henegar, and brother-in-law Clyde Kirby.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 23, 2026 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Trent Key will officiate. Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service at 2:00 P.M. at McMinnville Funeral Home.
