Eddie Arnold Shannon Eddie Arnold Shannon, 83, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Elk River Health and Nursing Center in Ardmore, Tennessee.

He was born on Saturday, October 3, 1942, to the late James Berry Shannon and the late Edna Lewter Shannon.

Eddie lived in the Ardmore community his entire life and was a proud member of First Baptist Church as well as a deacon. In his free time, Eddie enjoyed handing out bibles for the Gideons, golfing, farming, and watching Alabama football.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife, Fay Shannon, one daughter, Christi Brooks, one brother, Gene Shannon, as well as one sister, Helen Mathis.

Eddie is survived by one son, Mike (Stephanie) Shannon, one son-in-law, Shane Brooks, two brothers, James (Barbara) Shannon and Billy (Joann) Shannon, two sisters, Judy (Jimmy) McGuire and Mae (J.L.) Sanders, four grandchildren: Chelsea (Casun) Lovell, Carmin (Josh) Tribble, Sydney Shannon, and Walker (Bailey) Gordon, as well as eight grandchildren: Liam, Cleo, Sutton, Brooks, Willow, Memphis, Grady, and Griffin.

There will be a visitation held for Mr. Shannon at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A chapel service is scheduled for the following day, Wednesday, July 22, 2026, again at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, with service time beginning at 12:00 noon. Bro. Alan Hughes will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Gatlin Cemetery.

Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
