Druscilla Motte Jett Druscilla Motte Jett, age 89, of Dora, Alabama, began her eternal life with Jesus on July 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She will forever be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering faith, and her quick, sharp wit. She was a lifelong member of Owen’s Chapel Church of God. Everyone’s life was better for having known her.

Born on June 10, 1937, in Blount County, Alabama, to Thomas Henry Motte and Mary Magdalene Justice, Druscilla spent her childhood appreciating the small things in life, like tending her family’s garden and helping with laundry and cooking. She attended Dora High School before beginning work in the sewing industry, where she learned to make the most beautiful creations, including curtains, dresses, and many other items. In 1954, Druscilla married the love of her life, Charles Jett. Together they built a home, a life, and a beautiful family. Their marriage of many years was a true testament to love, commitment, and patience. Later in life, Druscilla spent much of her time as a caring volunteer at the Sumiton Senior Center. She enjoyed thrifting for shoes, purses, and sweaters and going out to eat at the Frosty Mug, White House, and Victoria’s.

Druscilla was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Henry Motte and Mary Magdalene Justice; her husband, Charles (Charlie) Jett; her beloved son, Randy Jett; and her siblings, Della Wilson, Lorene Reeves, Irene Reeves, J.D. Johnson, and Berry Johnson.

She is survived by her son, Ricky (Donna) Jett; her daughters, Deborah (Jerome) Gant, Canda (Danny) Alexander, and Tawanna Jett; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

The family warmly invites all who knew and loved Druscilla to join them in celebrating a life that brought so much joy to others. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 2:00p.m. at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. T.J. Millican will officiate. Burial will follow at New Horizon Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Carrying Druscilla to her place of eternal rest are Shane Jett, Charles Kevin McNiese, Cody Jett, Kyle Jett, Chase Gant, Chaz Gant, Dakota Jett, and honorary pallbearer Jamie McNiese. The family is deeply grateful to each of them for this final act of love and honor.

More than a farewell, this gathering is an opportunity to share stories, laughter, tears, and the memories that will keep Granny Dru’s spirit alive for generations to come.
