Jimmie Leland Johnson, Sr., 74, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born July 12, 1938, to Vester D. and Ora Marie Johnson. He worked for Rockwell and did construction work. Lastly, he hauled scrap iron and drove trucks for J & J. He attended Grace Community Fellowship Church. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting.

Services will be at 1 p. m. Tuesday, June 25, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Tony Darracott and Bro. Grover Laird officiating. Burial will be in the Bourland Cemetery.

Survivors include three sons, Jimmie Leland Johnson, Jr. (Ann) of New Orleans, and Perry Keith Johnson and Kenny E. Johnson, both of Dorsey; two daughters, Teresa “Sister” Darracott (Louis) of Ballardsville and Lisa Ann Lewallen (Charlie Wayne) of Long Beach; two sisters, Mildred Malhas of Dorsey and Virblene Parrish of Tishomingo; eight grandchildren, Darrell Darracott, Eric Darracott, Landon Johnson, Tiffany Lewallen, Dustin Knowles, B. J. Harden, Leigh Anne Johnson, and Breigh Anne Johnson; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Burlon Johnson; and a special caregiver, Francis Elrod.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and Tony Johnson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Monday, June 24, and will continue until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
