Gail Wilkerson, age 78 of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at her residence. Gail was born in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, on May 29, 1948. She grew up in Oregon before making Hamilton her home. She held two bachelor’s degrees and spent her life in servitude to others before becoming a homemaker, teaching the next generation life lessons and crafts. Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Wilkerson; her father, Don Scharbrough; her grandmother who raised her, Edna Scharbrough; and her mother, Claudia Stern. She is survived by her four children: David (Bambi) Young, Dawn (Barry) Milam-Hornsby, Kelley (Shawn) Price, and Jodee Copeland-Wilkerson, Gail also had 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a host of people who loved her. No services will be held.
