Obituary of Jerry Jack Anderson Jr.Jerry Jack Anderson Jr., age 77, passed away in the late-night hours on Sunday, July 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born December 13, 1948, in Gadsden, Alabama, he was the son of the late Jack and Martha Anderson. A lifelong area resident, Jerry spent decades rooted in the Gadsden community, living a steady, community-oriented life grounded in Alabama values and devotion to family. He resided in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.

Jerry attended Emma Sansom High School and continued his education at Gadsden State Community College. He worked for many years as an industrial electrician at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, where he was respected for his skill and reliability, retiring in 2017.

He also served his country and the state of Alabama with distinction in the US Army, the Alabama National Guard, and the Alabama Air National Guard for a total of thirty-seven years. His career as a Communications & Intelligence expert in the US armed forces stands as a credit to this country and a testament to his love of the same. He retired from military service in 2008.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of many years, Myra C. Anderson; children Jerry J. Anderson III and Tara C. Molitor; sisters Patti Bradford and Mary Anderson; and five grandchildren who will miss him very much. He coached soccer and taught his children in the way they should go, offering guidance with the steady care of a dedicated father and the faithful presence of a family man.

Visitation will be held at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901, on July 20, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

A Committal Service will be held at Alabama National Cemetery, 45M7+8H, Montevallo, AL 35115, on July 21, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
