William Keith Mills, age 95, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
He was born on June 29, 1931 to the late William Henry Mills and Marguerite Winters Mills in Beechy, Kentucky.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Eva Garnett Drake Mills, his parents, and a sister.
He is survived by his daughter, Connie Wooten of Nicholasville, KY; his son, William Keith Mills, Jr. (Toni) of Louisville, KY; step-daughters, Donna Drake, Mary Lou Lofty (Kevin), and Liz Dickinson (Danny) who he resided with; ten grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
He retired from Hughes Aircraft after many years of faithful service.
As a young man he joined the Navy where he learned many vocational skills while working on submarines. He obtained his pilot’s license and used it on many occasions to transport patients to Shriner’s Hospital Burn Center. His work experience offered opportunities to live in many different states. He was a master of many trades and enjoyed nothing more than working on projects for family and friends. He was a lover of cats and will be missed by his cat Buddy.
Interment will be held at a later date at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast.
