Gary McClain GholstonGary McClain Gholston, age 71 passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026. He was born on December 23, 1954, in Nashville, TN to the late John and Martha Gholston. He was a member of Antioch CME Church in Tharptown, AL.

He was employed at Franklin Homes as a Cabinet Setter, and Pilgrim’s Pride. He graduated from Russellville High School in 1972. He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, spending time with family and friends and playing spades and tunk. His favorite scripture was 1st Corinthians 16:14 “Let all that you do be done in love” and his favorite saying is “Roll Tide”.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Aaliyah Gholston; brothers, John D. Gholston, and Ronald Gholston.

He is survived by daughters, Janelle Willingham, and Charlene Gholston; son, Montas Common, grandchildren, Dashawn Harris, Aaron Gholston, Adonis Robinson, Laken Shaw, Nyjel Betts, Malaya Willingham; great-grandchildren, Cameryn Gholston, Hyacinth Shaw, Enoch Shaw; sisters, Gwen Brown, Robbie Wynn, Latanya McCullough; brother, William Fitzgerald Gholston; special friends, Brenda Hurley, Calvin Woods and a host of family and friends.
