Cheryl Howell, age 79, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at McCain’s Cemetery with Rick Points officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, which is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on October 5, 1946, in Houston, Texas, Patricia was the daughter of the late Paul Vernon Durham and the late Opal Elizabeth Wolfenberger Durham.
Cheryl worked as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) during her earlier years before dedicating herself to her family as a homemaker. She found joy in growing flowers and tending her garden, and she had a special love for animals, especially her beloved cats and dog. Above all else, Cheryl cherished the time she spent with her family. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is lovingly survived by her husband of 30 years, William Howell; her son, Tyler (Shelly) Luna; her daughter, Melissa (Mark) White; her stepmother, Kay Durham; her sisters, Polly Durham and Leah Durham; brother, Kenny (Brenda) Durham, her grandchildren, Shana Luna, Madison Luna, Cody (Holly) Dunavant, Jessica Khann, Stephanie (Daniel) Williams, and Bethany (Josh) Lowry; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her sisters, Rena Lynn and Janice Weltz, and her great-granddaughter, Eleanor Luna.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
