Katherine McGee, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away
on July 10, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Born on December 20, 1946, Katherine lived a life devoted to caring for others and creating a home filled with warmth, kindness, and
compassion.

For many years, Katherine was a dedicated homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She
also operated a daycare in her home, where she lovingly cared for generations of children. Her gentle
nature, patient heart, and nurturing spirit made a lasting impact on the many families who entrusted their
children to her care.

Katherine shared more than 60 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, John McGee.
Together, they built a life centered on love, family, church and cherished memories. Their enduring bond
was a testament to their commitment and devotion to one another.

She is survived by her husband, John McGee; her daughter, Joy Lowery (Kevin); her brother, Roger
Lathan; two granddaughters; Kara Lawson (Jake), Emma Cochran (Ethan); three step-grandsons; Kyle
Lowery (Courtney), Clay Lowery (Bethany), and Kade Lowery. She also leaves behind several
great-grandchildren; and a special niece Lauren Jolley (Logan) and nephew Luke Lathan (Robin) whom
she loved dearly. She leaves behind her best friend, Jeannie Bentley, of almost 60 years.
She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Katherine will be remembered for her selfless love, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to her
family. She found joy in caring for others and leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will continue
through the many lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the countless memories she created and the love she shared throughout her life. Forever loved, forever remembered.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 13, 2026 at Albertville Memorial Chapel. Dr. Jerry Lowery will officiate the service. Friends can visit from 10:00 until 11:00 before the service. She will be laid to rest at Mount Vernon cemetery. There will be no graveside service.
Pall bearers will be Jake Lawson, Luke Lathan, Logan Jolley, Kyle Lowery, Clay Lowery, Kade Lowery,
Trey Morton, and Craig Morton.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be all the men that have called her Maw Maw Kathy throughout the years.

Arrangements are entrusted to Albertville Memorial Chapel.
