Tommy Lee Brooks, 81, entered his heavenly home on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at his residence. Mr. Brooks was born in Indianola, MS, to Ruffus Jack and Eula McGraw Brooks. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the National Guard. Mr. Brooks was a born-again child of God. He attended Trinity Assembly of God in Red Bay, AL, where he helped found the Celebration Recovery Ministry, which has, and will continue to, see lives set free and restored through the power of God. He also served as a faithful member of the Gideons.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Assembly of God in Red Bay, AL. Visitation will be Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Trinity Assembly of God in Red Bay, AL. Burial will be in Dennis Memory Garden in Dennis, MS. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont, MS, will be in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margie Brooks; four children, Tammy Copeland (Robert), Patrick Brooks (Kim), Jeffrey Brooks (Brandi), and Stephanie Ruple; seven grandchildren, Logan Brooks (Madison), Elijah Brooks, Jeremiah Brooks, Amandah Brooks, Bellah Brooks, T.J. Brooks, and Kristin Bishop (Gage); two great-grandchildren, Walt Brooks and Remi Rae Brooks and his sister, Patsy Faust (Dennis).
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jimmy Brooks (Shirley), Rufus Brooks (Berniece), Red Brooks (Jonie), and Billy Joe Brooks (Francis) and his sister, Joyce Murphy (Mike).
Pallbearers will be Elijah Brooks, Logan Brooks, Jeremiah Brooks, T.J. Brooks, Mike Kennedy, Keith Kennedy, and Randy Holland.
Honorary pallbearers will be those whose lives have been impacted through the Celebration Recovery Ministry since its inception.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, Bibles be donated through Gideons International.
