Jerry Thomas Woodside Profile Photo Mr. Jerry Thomas Woodside, age 78 of Morrison, TN (Vervilla Community), passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Ascension St. Thomas River Park Hospital. He was born on February 13, 1948 in McMinnville, Tennessee. Jerry was an operator of the water treatment plant with the West Warren Viola Water Utility; he also retired from Carrier Air Conditioning where he wore many hats – working as a forklift driver, in the maintenance department as well as performing other jobs. He was a member of the Earleyville Church of Christ – he adored his church family and was very active. He would always help anyone who needed it, played around with the kids at church sometimes getting them in trouble, and was affectionately known for his long prayers. Jerry enjoyed his little farm, animals, and tractors and was a man who never sat still for very long. He had a shop at home that he worked in, tinkering around and repairing things. He liked spending time camping; and after being convinced to go to Disney World, where Jerry fell in love being with his family there riding the rides and at Dollywood. As a family, they went all out for Halloween and he was always in costume. He was a man who was crazy about his cats and never had enough of them. He especially was fond of his grandchildren and considered Cannon to be his right-hand man.

Jerry is survived by his dedicated wife of 39 years Carolyn Hice Woodside, children Matthew (Chancy) Woodside, Jeremy (Dana) Woodside, and Lily (Preston) Light, sister Patricia K. (Mike, Sr.) Bell, grandchildren Justice (Bryan) Knowles, Garrett Woodside, and Cannon Thomas Woodside, and great grandchild Lucian Knowles.
