Jimmy Knight, age 78, of Eutaw, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026. The family will have a private service. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.
He was born on February 28, 1948, in Fayette, County, AL. He was the son of the late Murray and Ethel Terry Knight.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Opal, sister Virginia Rasberry and brothers Bill Knight, Butch Knight, and Ed Knight.
He is survived by his daughters Kim (David) Rainwater of Cherryville, NC and Kelli (Brad) Kimbrell of Northport, AL, and grandson, Travis Rainwater.
Jimmy was a kind soul that would go out of his way to help anyone. He was always ready to lend a hand, whether it meant fixing something, building something, helping someone in need to cooking for a crowd, he loved bringing happiness to others. He loved fishing and his favorite times were spent at the river with family and friends. Jimmy’s passing comes 3 months after the death of the love of his life, Opal. Opal loved her people fiercely and was always looking for a way to give a “happy” to someone. They lived a simple but fun-filled life together for over 53 years with memories their family will cherish forever. He will be missed dearly by his friends and family.
