SHEFFILED-Internationally acclaimed pianist Dr. Mary-Victoria Voutsas will be performing a recital at the Rocker Gallery featuring music by Jeremy Smith, Philip Glass, and Nico Muhly on Thursday, July 16th at 7:00PM for a special W.C. Handy Festival recital.
Praised as a “powerful” and “enthralling pianist” by Washington City Paper, Dr. Voutsas has performed at the Kennedy Center, Lisner Auditorium, and numerous embassy concerts, and has been featured for major events including the 75th NATO Summit and 2024 Paris Olympics launch events.
We’re thrilled to bring contemporary piano music into the gallery setting for W.C. Handy Festival, pairing the work of Shoals-based composer Jeremy Smith with two of the most influential voices in contemporary American music.
Admission is free, and all are welcome. Located at 319 North Raleigh Avenue in Sheffield.
