Obituary of Kelsey Dawn Pirtle Kelsey Dawn Pirtle, age 26, of Jackson, Tennessee, left this world on July 7, 2026 after a short battle with Melanoma. She was born on September 1, 1999.

Kelsey graduated from Chester County High School in May 2017 and continued her education at Bethel University, where she attended on a volleyball scholarship. She was certified as a Dental Assistant and worked at Patterson Dentistry.

Kelsey was a faithful believer who attended Englewood Baptist Church and also worshipped with her parents at Malesus Baptist Church. Her faith was an important part of her life and carried her through both joyful and difficult times.

Kelsey was a beautiful young woman who truly loved life and was a light for all to see. Her infectious smile, kind heart, and outgoing personality made her the life of every gathering. She never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone around her feel welcomed and loved.

She was an outstanding athlete who enjoyed playing softball and volleyball. She also loved friendly competition, especially playing cornhole and washers with her beloved Poppa. The memories they made together will forever be treasured.

Above all, Kelsey loved her family and friends. She faced life’s challenges with remarkable courage, grace, and unwavering strength, leaving an example of faith and perseverance that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.

Kelsey was preceded in death by her Poppa, Gordon Pirtle, her Daddy Ray, her Big Mama Pat Lovett, her Big Daddy John Lovett.

She is survived by her parents, Jason and Jennifer Pirtle, her sisters Josie Davis (Trevor) and Laynee Pirtle, her Granna, Carol Pirtle, her Aunt and Uncle, Mark and Amy Barber, her Nana and Grandpa, Ron and Melissa Delong, her Aunt and Uncle, Jack and Jodi Burgess, her brothers Karsen Burgess, her cousins Ben and Bo Burgess, her Nana Kay Bolden, her Poppa Buddy Jenkins, her Aunt and Uncle Keith and Robbin Stephenson, her cousins Sarah Kate and Addie Stephenson, and her soul mate Reece Baum.

 

A celebration of Kelsey’s life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11 am at The Chapel at Englewood Baptist Church at 2239 N Highland Ave, Jackson, Tennessee 38305. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery at Malesus.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 4-8 pm at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home and again on Saturday, July 11, 2026 beginning at 10 am, one hour prior to the service at the church.

Though her time on this earth was far too short, Kelsey’s love, laughter, smile, and beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten!!

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking everyone to donate to the American Cancer Society to aid in the further research of Melanoma.
