Gary Don Brooks Sr., 66, of Brierfield, Alabama previously of Moulton passed away Monday, July 6, 2026, at his residence. The graveside service will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Cheatham Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Born on August 22, 1959, to Elbert and Maggie “Dean” Rooks Brooks. Gary was a gold prospector. He was a proud member of the LDMA and GPAA. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hard worker who would give you the shirt off of his back.
Survivors include the love of his life, Cynthia Blasingame; children, Don Brooks, Chastity Franks, Misty Franks, Marlana Blasingame, Shane (Ashley) Wakefield, and David Scofield; grandchildren, Kali Aurora Dean McCool, Dominick Williams, Blaine Williams, Ryan Ingram, David Wayne Dean, Elora Edmondson, Delia Lee, and Brennon Scofield; great-grandchildren, Octavia Dean, Ryder Dean, Aiden Edmondson, Nova Williams, and Dean Edmondson; brother, Victor Brooks; his loving and faithful companion, BJ; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Brooks and Maggie “Dean” Brooks; sister, Vicki Holloway.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
