Florence Police Arrest Suspect In Early Morning Shooting At Sweetwater Ridge Aparments

FLORENCE-On July 4, 2026, at approximately 6:50AM, the Florence Police Department responded to Sweetwater Ridge Apartments for a shots fired call.

Once on scene, patrol officers located a female with a gunshot wound. She was transported to the hospital to receive medical attention.

The Florence Police Department Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene.

At 10:47AM on July 4, 2026, Florence Police Detectives arrested

, 38, of Florence, AL for Assault 1^st Degree.

He is currently being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing. Perkins is innocent until proven guilty.
