Graveside service for William Loyd McCarley, 82, will be Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Hartselle Memory Gardens with Bro. William Dewitt Miller officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. McCarley died on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at his residence. He was born January 10, 1944, in Morgan County to William Marcus McCarley and Evelyn Marie Wiley McCarley.
Mr. McCarley was an avid hunter and liked Alabama football and Hartselle football. He received a welding degree from Calhoun Community College and he taught welding to his friends and family. Mr. McCarley was a maintenance foreman for Amoco and taught people how to weld prior to his retirement. Mr. McCarley loved his Country and was a proud Navy Veteran.
Mr. McCarley was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 60 years, Pearl McCarley, and his brother, Jerry Lee McCarley.

Son – Scott McCarley (Gina)
Daughter – Rhonda McCarley Miller (Tim)
Sister – JoAnn Johnson (Jack)
Four Grandchildren – Hallie Vaughan Johnson (Spencer), Timothy Waid Miller (Abby), Nickolas William McCarley and William Dewitt Miller (Ashlyn)
Four Great-Grandchildren – Oliver Knox Johnson, Izzy Pearl Johnson, Hayes Booth Miller and Anniston Jane Miller
Pallbearers will be Waid Miller, Spencer Johnson, Nick McCarley, Tim Miller, Kody Vest, Buck Hill. and Ricky Burrell.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Hartselle Tabernacle, P.O. Box 163, Hartselle, AL. 35640. Special thanks to Jordan Dial for all the care that she gave to Mr. McCarley.
