Elizabeth Ellis, 65, of Fort Payne, passed away peacefully at her residence on July 1, 2026.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Fort Payne High School and dedicated 26 years of service to Pioneer Hosiery Mill. She will be remembered for kind heart, strong work ethic, and the love she shared with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Mary Ellis.
She is survived by her siblings Willie Underwood (Annette), Coleen Swopes, Jonathan Ellis, Mary Martin and Charles Moore; uncles Rev. Roscoe Underwood Sr. (Clara), Willie Underwood (Shirley), Kenneth Underwood (Veronica); aunts Deloris Cutts, Trudy Raye (Curtis) and Helen Davenport; two nephews Wyatt Underwood and Quinton Underwood; one niece Michelle Swopes; beloved cousins Pam Parrom and Kathy Prater; a host of special friends, along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and all who were blessed to know her.
A Home Going celebration will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2026, First Baptist Church of Douglas with Rev. Tommy Price officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. hour of service at the church. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
