Larry O’Neal Purser

March 11, 1957 – June 24, 2026

In the Care of Bell’s Chapel

Larry O’Neal Purser age 69, of Mt. Olive, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Larry loved his family and friends. Larry grew up on a farm. They had all sorts of animals, and he loved to barrel race. They all had their own horse and his was Whiskey. He loved spending time with his siblings swimming in the creek and catching crawfish. Larry worked at Merita Bread Company for many years and as a carpenter and loved building things. Through his journey of 69 years, he touched many lives with his wisdom, his love for fishing and his big sense of humor. He loved to pull pranks on his siblings and his favorite time was spent with his family. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis Purser and Sally Smith; brothers, Terry Purser, Bobby Purser, Randy Purser, Merrell Purser; sisters, Doris Leach, Peggy Purser; children, Candace Purser, Braxton Purser.

He is survived by his loving family, son Justin Purser: sisters, Marsha (Purser) Martin and Rena Purser; grandchildren, Lexi Purser, Christine Glass, Austin Glass; great grandchild Kenley Purser, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026 at Bell’s Chapel in Sumiton at 1pm with a visitation starting at 12pm. Laid to rest will follow at Jones Cemetery on Sardis Road.
