Robert Ray Lewis passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the home of his daughter in Clifton, Tennessee. Born and raised in Nashville, Robert lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and a deep love for the outdoors.
Over the years, Robert held many jobs — electrician, pool builder, and more — but the work he was most proud of was his masonry restoration with Wasco Inc., helping preserve historic buildings throughout downtown Nashville. His craftsmanship lives on in the brick and stone of the city he called home.
Robert loved fishing, his dogs, and his family above all else. He believed that being outdoors was “brain food,” a gift he passed down to his children. Some of his happiest moments were spent outside with a fishing pole in hand, sharing the peace and beauty of nature with those he loved.
He is survived by his daughter, Regina Renee’ McConnell, and his son, Jesse Lewis; seven grandchildren — Trent Hornsby, Chaz Hornsby, Nathan Lewis, Kayla Mores, Kelsi Mores, Alyssa Lewis, and Brianna Lewis; and sixteen great‑grandchildren who will carry his memory forward.
The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date, honoring Robert in the way he would have wanted — together, sharing stories, and remembering him in the great outdoors he cherished.
