Joy Ellen Harper Panter, age 84 of Jasper, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Walker Baptist Medical Center.

She was born March 8, 1942 in Florida.  She grew up in Nashville, TN and was a graduate of Donelson High School  She eloped to Jasper, AL where she raised her family.  She was a registered nurse and worked many years in the medical field and traveled extensively with her job until her retirement.  She returned to Jasper in 2021 and made her home again.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel.  Burial will be at Panter Cemetery.

Mrs. Panter was preceded in death by her Parents-D.W. Harper and Miriam Harper; Sons-Morris Lee Panter and Jason Richard Panter; Sister-in-law-Sara Francis Lanier.

She is survived by her Son-Brant Roy Panter and wife Kimberly Manasco Panter; Daughters-in-law-Betty Panter and Tracy Panter; Sister-Jane McCarter; Brothers-D.W. Harper, Jr. and wife Daniele and Herbert Harper and wife Layne; Brother-in-law-Bly Panter and wife Casey; Special Daughter-Ruby Panter; Special Friends-Sherry and Rob Kulla, Christi Freel Speer; Grandchildren-Max Panter and Elise, Will Panter and Katie, Zak Panter and Cassie, Lee Panter, Jon Panter, Caitlin Boudreaux and Patrick, Harper Panter, Dalton Dunson and Bethany and Dillon Dunson; Great Grandchildren-Roy Panter, Heidi Panter, Henry Panter, Gibson Panter, Ava Boudreaux, Harmony Busbee and Luke Lacey; Host of Nieces, Nephews and Friends.

Pallbearers will be Max Panter, Will Panter, Zak Panter, Lee Panter, Jon Panter, Dillon Dunson, Dalton Dunson and Scott Lanier.
