It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jim B. Thaxton, who went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family, just nine days after the passing of his beloved wife, Aurelia Thaxton. After 71 years of love, devotion, and partnership, they are reunited once again.
Jim was a devoted husband, loving father, proud granddad, and faithful friend. He was known for his kind heart, steady presence, and the love he showed to his family throughout his life. For many years, he served as a football referee, a role he took great pride in. Whether cheering on his favorite football team Alabama, coaching his grandson in baseball, or simply spending time with those he loved, Jim made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents DW and Birdie Thaxton; wife, Aurelia Thaxton; his daughter, Tracy Clark; and his grandson, Will Kirby III. While his family grieves his loss, they find comfort in knowing he is now reunited with those he loved so dearly.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Daphne Jim Kirby (Tommy) and Kelly Thaxton; and his granddaughters, Leslie Thaxton and Hannah Clark, who will continue to cherish his memory and carry forward the love, values, and lessons he shared throughout his life.
Though our hearts are broken, we take peace in knowing that Jim B and Aurelia are together again, hand in hand, surrounded by loved ones in Heaven.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
