Viola Odom Profile Photo Viola Odom, age 77, a lifelong resident of Maury County, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.

Born on April 28, 1949, in Maury County, Tennessee, Viola was the daughter of the late Johnny Cothran and Minnie Lee Cothran.

Viola was a kind, generous, and compassionate woman whose greatest joy in life was caring for others. She had a special place in her heart for children and found great happiness in helping families during Christmas time, making sure children had gifts to open and memories to cherish. Her selfless spirit and loving nature touched countless lives throughout the years.

Viola found joy in life’s simple pleasures. In years past, she enjoyed gardening and canning, taking pride in the fruits of her labor. She loved watching her favorite Lifetime movies and had a special fondness for red birds, which always brought a smile to her face and reminded her of her late husband. Viola also cherished the time she spent sitting on the front porch with her beloved husband, surrounded by the beautiful flowers she so lovingly tended. Above all else, she dearly loved her family, and the time shared with them was the greatest blessing of her life. She was a member of Sandy Hook Church of Christ.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Dena Frazier; daughter-in-law, Christina Odom Hodge; grandchildren, Karissa Sharpe, Michael (Stephanie) Odom, Kaleigh (Bubba) Clifton, and Haleigh (Matthew) Peterson; great-grandchildren, Kenna Sharpe, Kase Sharpe, Kirklyn Barnes, Kaislyn Odom, Kixx Clifton, Kamreigh Clifton, and Jentry Peterson; one great-grandchild expected soon, Beau Peterson; siblings, Mary Scott, Sara Lindsey, Almajean Stewart, and Richard Cothran; special friend, Karen McKennon; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Viola is reunited with her beloved husband, Kenneth Stanley Odom; son, Kenny Odom; son-in-law, Ricky Frazier; parents, Johnny Cothran and Minnie Lee Cothran; siblings, Billy Ray Cothran, Evelyn Gibson, and Sue McGee; and her special friend, Betty McClendon.

Pallbearers will be Fletcher Lindsey, Clint Stewart, Chris Gibson, Ricky Cothran, Ray Cothran, and Kase Sharpe. Honorary pallbearers will be Thad Runions and Carl “Snag” Workman.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, with Andy Pogue officiating.

Following the service, Viola will be laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.
