Sandy West Profile Photo  Sandra “Sandy” West, 79, of Florence, Alabama, passed away on June 15th, 2026, in Columbia, Tennesse. Sandy was born in Florence, Alabama to George Tingle and Betty West on April 26th, 1947. She was married to James Hendrix. She worked as a cashier at Shell for 24 years. Sandy was sassy, fearless and lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and love. Sandy was a life-long fan of Alabama football; she could always be found wearing team colors and yelling “Roll Tide!” on game day. Sandy’s favorite holiday was Christmas. It was a time for family, elaborate decorations, and spreading the holiday cheer. She also had a deep love of Disney movies; it was a special time to spend with her kids and grandkids. Sandy was an amazing cook, she had the best biscuits and gravy and fried chicken around. Everyone who knew Sandy loved her, she was always so kind to anyone she met.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, George and (stepmother) Estella Tingle, and Betty West. Sisters: Sharon and Jean, brother: Carlton, nephews: Buddy and Timmy, grandson: Christian Coleman, spouses: Donnie, Richard “Frenchie”, and James “Jim”.

Sandy is survived by her Sister Cherlyn. Children: Regina, Chris, Richard, Dustin (Chelsey). Grandchildren: Darby (Stephen), Hannah (Brian), Devin (Frank), Candace (Derek), Mariah (Will), Adiana, Abbigayle. Great Grandchildren: Damien, Savannah, Aiden, Ryan, Willow, Christian, Tristan, Lilith, Thea, Janet, Gideon, Tessa. Many nieces and nephews as well as all extended friends and family.

Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
