Thomas Mack Kilgore, age 80, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026. Born in Altoona on March 5, 1946, he was the fourth of five children born to the late Thomas Greene Kilgore and Imogene Josephine Kilgore.
Thomas was a man of deep devotion, dedicating his life to providing for his family. He retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in 2009 after 37 years of loyal service. Known for being quick-witted and exceptionally kind to everyone he met, Thomas brought joy to those around him. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting and both fresh and saltwater fishing. On Saturdays in the fall, he could always be found cheering on his beloved University of Alabama football team. He also had a deep passion for music and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. Above all, Thomas was a cherished husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Kilgore and Billy Kilgore, and his sister, Eloise Foster.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and beautiful memories; and is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Nancy Hilburn Kilgore; his son, Ronald “Buck” Kilgore and partner Jennifer; his daughters, Susan Kilgore and Sharon Baker and husband Kevin; his three grandchildren, Ashley Goss, Cody Kilgore and Garrett Baker; his brother, Phillip Kilgore; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Thomas will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered by all who knew him.
