Mr. Petty, a retired airplanes sheet metal repairman for the Army, passed away on Tuesday June 2, 2026, at his home in Trenton, TN.
Mr. Petty was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Gathan Petty and Dorothy Dean Dunn; and two sisters, Susie Petty and Amanda Jones.
Mr. Petty is survived by his five children, Jerry Petty, Tyler Petty, Connie Petty, Elizabeth Petty, and Jennifer Petty; four sisters, Teresa Tilghman, Kimberly Petty, Dianne Lovell, and Amy Jones; three brothers, James Slaughter, Todd Slaughter, and Chris Slaughter; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
