Mary Lois Potete Bratcher Morgan

Mary Lois Potete Bratcher Morgan was born November 01, 1935 in Wayne County, TN to the union of the late James B. and Laura Duncan Potete. She was united in marriage to Bobby Gene Bratcher. This union was blessed with seven children, Lois, Dianne, Bobby, Timmy, Mark, Anthony, and Margaret. They would remain married until his passing in 1976. She was then united in marriage to James Morgan, gaining two step-daughters, Gwen and Marsha and three step sons, Dietrich, Gary and James. She spent much of her working career at Genesco and spent some time driving an eighteen wheeler. She was a member of Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church. She loved to keep her mind busy, and was often found enjoying the pages of a book or putting a puzzle together. The genealogy of her family was especially intriguing to her as she loved history. Her family will forever cherish the text messages she would send to check on them or simply wish them a good-morning or good-night. Her family meant the world to her, she loved nothing more than helping them in any way that she could. Mrs. Morgan departed this life on Wednesday, June 03, 2026 in Savannah, TN making her stay in this life some 90 years, 7 months and 2 days.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Lois Talley; Dianne Bowling and husband Steve both of Collinwood, TN; two step daughters, Gwen Stogner and husband Shelly; Marsha Thomas and husband Tony both of Hot Springs, AR; four sons, Bobby Bratcher and wife Edith; Timmy Bratcher; Mark Bratcher and wife Teresa; Anthony Bratcher all of Collinwood, TN; two step sons, Dietrich Morgan and wife Rena of Little Rock, AR; Gary Morgan and wife Angela of Hot Springs, AR; she is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and 26 great-great grandchildren

In addition to her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Haddock; step-son, James Morgan; one grandson, Darryl Bowling; a daughter-in-law, Melinda Bratcher; two sons-in-law, Steve Talley and Charles Haddock; one sister, Bernice Mosier; four brothers, James Potete, Leo Potete, Colin Potete, Charles Potete.

Visitation with the Morgan family will be on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and again on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 10:00 AM until service time at 3:00 PM all at Houston Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will begin at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Houston Baptist Church with Jeremy Holt and John Scoggin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
