Mr. Danny William Bell age 78 of McMinnville, TN passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at his home with his family near him. He was born on July 14, 1947 in McMinnville, TN, served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard, and was a member of Living Word Fellowship Church of McMinnville. Danny was an excellent marksman, had a talent for all things gun related, and enjoyed enhancing his shooting skills. In his earlier years, he turned down an invitation to attend West Point – a United States Military Academy well-known for its leadership and training of talented cadets.
Danny lived a life defined by faith, hard work, and devotion to his family. For nearly 55 years, he was a steady and faithful husband to his wife, Brenda, and a father whose example shaped not only his four children, but also the many foster children who became part of their home over the years. Together, they were blessed with a growing family that included 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He spent his working years as a tool and die maker.
He was an avid hunter, enjoying target practice and working on his rifles, and was a lifelong NASCAR fan who enjoyed keeping up with the races. He was a man who led by example, showing through his actions what it meant to be responsible, dependable, and consistent. Through every season of life, he loved Jesus and lived out his faith in a quiet, steady way that left a lasting impression on those around him.
Danny is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Brenda Cope Bell, children Melissa Ann (Brett) Dorrell, Chad Daniel Bell, Jeremy Todd (Lynesa Youngblood) Bell, and Kristy Leanne (Benjie) Griffith, special daughters Jo Burdette and Candy Sanchez, grandchildren Logan Michael Dorrell, Eli William Dorrell, Jonas Christopher Dorrell, Anna Caroline Dorrell, Wesley Daniel Bell, Jacob Andrew (Sierra) Bell, Sadie Grace Bell, Rayton Carson (Lynsie) Bell, Emeline Frances (Layne) Murphy, Meredith Elise Bell, Jeremiah Lucas Bell, Lorelei Faith Griffith, James Turner Griffith, and Amelia Claire Griffith, great grandchildren Aloura Faye Lynn Bell and Stetson Wayne Bell, and sister-in-law Mary Smith Bell. Mr. Bell is preceded in death by his parents Leighmon Middleton and Elsie Robinson Bell, granddaughter Jordan Grace Dorrell, and brothers Glen Earl (Evelyn Sue Martin) Bell and Billy C. Bell.
The funeral service for Danny Bell is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 06, 2026 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Jim Zlaten and Roger Wagoner will officiate. Interment will follow at New Union Cemetery in the Belk Community of DeKalb County. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 2:00 P.M.
