Stephen Dewayne Lovell, 63 of Florence, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026. He was born January 24, 1963.
Visitation will be at Elkins in Florence on Sunday, May 31 from 12pm – 1pm with a memorial service to follow.
Steve was a native of Lauderdale County and attended Brandon Elementary, Weeden and graduated from Rogers High School. He was a long-time avid photographer and enjoyed photographing wildlife around the area and in his backyard. He met and made many friends while shooting photographs.
Steve was employed at Precision Machinery. He was fortunate to work for his brother, Jay. He never met a stranger and made many friends with their customers.
Steve is the son of Patricia Lovell and the late Estle Lovell.
Steve is survived by his wife, Donna Gamble Lovell; son, Patrick Lovell; brothers Jay Lovell (Myra), Chris Lovell, Matthew Lovell (Suzanne); nephew, Jacob Lovell; and nieces, Sarah Lovell and Misty Lovell (Patrick).
The family wishes to thank all of the nursing staff, physicians ad nurse practitioners at Helen Keller Hospital and Huntsville Hospital for the excellent care he received.
