Steven Mark Martin, 57 of Arab passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026. He was born November 2, 1968, in Arab the son of Ernest Wayne Martin and Joyce Garner Martin. He graduated from Arab High School in 1987 and later earned an associate’s degree in poultry science from Snead State Community College, a master’s degree in administration from Auburn University, and a law degree from the Alabama School of Law. After working in many different fields, he eventually returned home to help his mother carry out his father’s dream of building a poultry farm. There, he embraced farm life and enjoyed raising chickens and cattle.
He is survived by his mother: Joyce Martin; fur baby: Earnie Peanut; lifelong friends and neighbors: Darell Wilson and Glenda Wilson; host of cousins, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Wayne Martin; grandparents: Millard Martin and Minnie Nearen Martin, Elmer Clyde Garner and Emma Lorene Terrell Garner.
Memorial Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Sweet Home Cemetery. Gober Funeral Chapel assisted the Martin family with cremation arrangements.
