Robert Haynes, 76, passed away on May 10, 2026 after a short illness. He was born in Anniston on June 30, 1949 to Percy and Myrtis Haynes. He was a 1968 graduate of Saks High School. Robert retired from the Air Force in 1995 after serving his country honorably for 19 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Percy Haynes and Myrtis Britt Haynes. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margie Evers Haynes, his daughter Monica Haynes of Savannah, Georgia, his sons John and Samuel Haynes both of Anniston, his grandson Alistar Waldhauer, his granddaughter Skylar Cooper his sisters Mary Linda Curry of Anniston, and Bobbie Whorton of Prattville, several nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Robert was a loving husband and father. One of his favorite pastimes was to sit on the porch of his home in Saks and watch the traffic go by. He will be remembered for his love of his family and his wonderful sense of humor.
A memorial service for Robert will be held on July 11, 2026 at 2 pm at Valley Baptist Church, 3640 Oak Grove Rd, Gadsden, AL.
