Mistie was born March 28, 1982 at Helen Keller Hospital. She battled Pneumococcal Pneumonia while staying in Los Angeles, California. It was there she lost her battle and began her next journey January 19, 2026.
She left behind her husband, M. Heath Thomas; her three children, Morgan Malone (Marq) of Muscle Shoals Landin Blunt of Moulton and Hayvn Johnson of Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Mylan Malone and Addalyn Blunt.
Her parents are Patsy M. Allsbrooks Terry (Patrick) of Moulton and Hollis B. “Barry” C. Burns (Joy) of Muscle Shoals and Charlene Thomas her Mother-In-Love.
Her brother is Collin Burns and bonus sister, Hannah Horton (Lucas), all of Moulton.
Mistie had a “Most Specialist Nephew” seven year old Russell Thomas. He was forever her sidekick and protector. Additionally nephews, a niece, aunts, uncles, cousins and forever friends.
Mistie would be the first to acknowledge her path filled with addiction and troubles. She’d also share that May 30, 2024, she was finally triumphant in that battle. She awoke every morning and chose to stay clean. Being clean made her an example that you can start over and choose better.
In the time she was given, she made amends where possible. Staying clean brought her health and happiness.
There will be a Celebration of Life Saturday, May 30th noon to 4 p.m. at Valdosta Church of Christ, 1119 Old Lee Hwy. in Tuscumbia. Eulogy at 1:30. Please come and share a story about Mistie, especially with her children.
