Nancy Verine Barge of Lineville transitioned peacefully into her final rest on May 25, 2026, surrounded by her family.

In her early years, Nancy could often be found playing softball. As her children grew, many of her days were spent at the ball field supporting and cheering them on through their own games and seasons. Some of her happiest memories were made spending time with family outdoors, especially during camping trips and gatherings together.

Nancy loved the outdoors in so many ways, from long hours spent sitting on the back porch with her grandchildren, sharing laughter and stories, to enjoying quiet moments of solitude with her animals and a cup of coffee in hand.

She especially enjoyed time spent around her pool with family gathered close by. She shared her love of the outdoors with those she loved as often as possible. Many summer gatherings were spent outside enjoying water activities, cookouts, and time together.

Her garden was often overflowing with tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers, and her home was continually filled with propagated plants that she lovingly shared with others.

She is survived by her husband, Danny Barge; daughter, Victoria Bell Weaver (Amy Weaver); son, Victor Nathan Bell III (Adena Bell); brother, Robert Duke (Catherine Duke); sister-in-law, Betsy Duke; brother-in-law, Joe White; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Medford Duke; mother, Inez Duke; brother, Ronald Duke; and sister, Jan White.

While Nancy is no longer here in body, her love, warmth, and memory will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all who knew and loved her.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Sunday, May 31st at 12:00 PM ET at 1585 McVey Rd, Lineville, AL. We will share memories together and would love for you to bring a dish to share if you are able.
