Morris “Bud” Woods, age 89 of Cullman County, went to be with the Christ on May 22, 2026. He was born December 29, 1936 to Boman and Ora Woods. Bud was married to Joan Elaine Little for 60 years. They had three children, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren and lived a full Christian life. He was self- employed, and he cleaned out chicken houses with his brother R.B for 45 years. Woods and Woods Poultry Cleanout went all over Norh Alabama and Tennessee. Bud was an Elder, Deacon, Trustee at Corinth First Congregation Methodist Church for 50 years. He was the Sunday School Superintendent and song leader as well. Bud was chairman of the Cemetery Committee for around 40 years. He was a great father and friend; Bud never met a stranger. Buds’ wife, Joan and his family where his whole life. He was always there to help family, friends and anyone who needed it. He and Joan were essential in getting a neighborhood watch and also in helping to get the Battleground Fire Department started, Bud will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Corinth Methodist Church in Vinemont, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 27 at 2. Mr. Woods will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins. Burial will be in the adjoining Cemetery. Bud is survived by his children, Roxanne (Roger) Asherbranner, Bowman Woods and Dueese (David) Powell; brothers, Ruel C (Carol) Woods, R.B (Rose Mary) Woods; grandchildren, Cranson (Mary Beth) Asherbranner and Chance (Mellicha) Asherbranner; great grandchildren, Eli, Cheyene, Oliver and Owen; sisters, Helen Carter, Doris Looney; brothers in law, Butch Cotterman; sisters in law, Lavina Little and Nina Miranda; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Little Woods; parents, Boman and Ora Woods; brothers, Vermont, Donald, Copal and Orval; sisters, Nell and Floree; sisters in law, Revonda Woods, Meval Woods, and Betty Jane Woods; brothers in law, James Guthery, W.H Carter and L.V Looney.
