Funeral Services for Mr. Larry “L.G.” Griffin, age 61 of Lineville, will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville at 3:00 P.M. with Bro. Lane Elliott and Chris Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Griffin passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at his home. L.G. was a lifelong resident of Clay County, and worked as a logger for nearly all of his life. He worked for numerous Loggers from around the county, and simply enjoyed spending his time outside. He had a green thumb, and enjoyed spending time in his vegetable garden or the occasional bird watching. L.G. also loved spending time with his dogs, and hanging out with his friends and family. He was a jolly man who always tried to help out anyone in need, and loved to pick at his loved ones.
Mr. Griffin is survived by Jennifer Saxon of Lineville; his daughter, Jasmine East (Josh) of Ashland; his granddaughter, Nadia Rae East; his niece, Alexandria Nicole Griffin; Great-nephew, Kenyon Lloyd Griffin; Great-niece, Kourtney Michelle Griffin; and his fur babies, Jax and Leroy.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Kenyon and Dorothy Sanderson Griffin; one brother, Terry Lloyd “Gooch” Griffin; and his great-nephew, Karson Lucas Griffin.
Active Pallbearers will be Wade King, Jim Wakefield, Christopher “Woody” East, John M. Saxon, Justin Saxon, Wesley McCollum, Danny Walker, and John Holmes.
His visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville beginning at 1:00 P.M. until service time at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer artificial flowers, or donations to the charity of your choice in L.G.’s Honor.
