Randall Holcomb Sr., 73, passed away on May 22, 2026, at Sunshine Health Care in Pontotoc, MS. He was born on March 28, 1953, to Herman and Nettie Lee Holcomb of Pontotoc. Randall was a proud and loving father to his three sons, and he was referred to as “Big Daddy” by his grandchildren whom he loved deeply. He attended Algoma Baptist Church until later in life, and he remained active in his Bible reading while at Sunshine Health Care. Randall started his career at Brookwood Furniture and retired from the same line of work, having worked for several companies in the upholstery industry.
Randall had a lifelong love for NASCAR and could often be found cheering on his favorite drivers, especially Dale Earnhardt. You probably wouldn’t get him to talk very long if you called on race days. However, he would still take time for whoever called him, and you would know every detail about the race even if you were not a NASCAR fan. Randall was a devoted fan of Mississippi State University and enjoyed watching MSU football and baseball games with his sons. Whether watching a game, talking about sports with friends and family, or enjoying race day, he brought enthusiasm and joy to those around him. He also loved the outdoors, as fishing and hunting were amongst his greatest pleasures, and he was known by many as “Lefty,” the star left-handed quarterback for the Algoma Bobcats.
Randall is survived by three sons, Randy (Crystal) Holcomb, Michael Holcomb, and Ben (Marien) Holcomb; six grandchildren, Katelyn (Hayden) Franklin, Lorryn (Jack) Harlow, Anna Holcomb, Kaydence Holcomb, Khloe Holcomb, and Kacey Holcomb; and two great-grandchildren, Hudson Henry Harlow and Beckham Brooks Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Nettie Lee Holcomb, one brother, Danny Ray (“Peanut”) Holcomb, and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. followed by graveside services and burial at Jernigan Cemetery. Bro. Rocky Watts will be officiating along with William Carter, and special music will be performed by Marilyn Gillespie. Pallbearers will be Terry Holcomb, William Holcomb, Raymond Holcomb, Hayden Franklin, Jack Harlow, and Steve Henderson.
The family hopes all who knew and loved him will cherish the good times and remember him for the love he gave and the simple joys he found in faith, family, racing, outdoors, and sports.
