Philip A. Saraceno Sr. Philip A. Saraceno, passed away 5/13/2026 in his home surrounded by his family. Phil was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 1, 1940. He was raised in Salem, MA until joining the Army. He served in New Mexico and Huntsville, AL., working on the Redstone Rocket program. He then moved to Cocco Beach with NASA, to Massachusetts with Raytheon, and then back to Huntsville with Chrysler, whom he retired from.

He was a strong family man, he is predeceased by his parents Samuel and Sophie Saraceno, as well as his sister Mary Preisner. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Lottie Sue (King) Saraceno of Union Grove, Al. His Daughters Mary Saraceno (Huntsville), Sharon Saraceno Prosser (Winchester TN), son Philip A Saraceno Jr and wife Maria (Scarborough ME). Sisters Barbara Weigold, Jean Porter, Roberta DuBeshter, and Brother Michael Saraceno. He cherished and proudly supported his grandchildren, Joey, Benjamin, Maria, Christopher (Petey), Dwayne, Samantha, Anna and Emma.

Phil loved spending time with his extended family from Union Grove and Arab, golfing, going to sporting events, and traveling to see his family. His love and pride in family were reflected in the time and effort he spent in research of his family genealogy all over the world.

Services will be held at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, 1340 North Main Street, Arab, AL 35016 on Friday, May 29, 2026. The family will receive friends and guests for visitation beginning at 1:00pm with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00pm. Philip Saracento, Jr. presenting the eulogy and Father Charlie Alookaran presenting prayers. Serving as pallbearers and escorting Philip to his final resting place in Mt. View Cemetery are Dewayne Brooks, Joey Prosser, Benjamin Prosser, Christopher Prosser, Jamie King and Todd King.

We would like to thank those that cared for him over the last few years, Dr. Omer Iqbal and staff, Dr. Victor Jiminez, Dr. Rosa Michel Ortega, and those who supported him at Southern Cancer Center. Father Alookaran and all of you at Hospice Family Care, Caring Life at Huntsville Hospital. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel are assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Phil’s name to Cahaba Shriners in Huntsville Al., and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
