Mr. Fred Lee Turner, age 78, of Viola, TN passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026. He was born on June 17, 1947 in McMinnville, TN. He was a member of the Seventh- Day Adventist Church and was the devoted director of the Pathfinder Group. He was deeply involved with his church from the beginning as he faithfully helped build it. He served his country as a medic in the U.S. Army where he was wounded twice and he was dedicated to his profession as a nurse for over 20 years. He enjoyed being outdoors taking care of his lawn, selling his firewood, and playing volleyball.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Joy Turner, daughter and son-in-law April and P.J. Perus, grandchildren Daniel Turner, Michael Turner, Stacey, Zia, Leo, Mia, and Alex, brothers Frank (Marie) Turner and Charles (Vicki) Turner, and son-in-law Milton Porter. He is preceded in death by his parents Emmett Franklin Turner and Mary Alice Williams Turner, wife Nancy Lee Wardle Turner, and sister Mary Irene Turner.
Funeral services for Mr. Fred Turner are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Sunday May 24, 2026 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Dennis Clark and Pastor Harley Roth will officiate. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Military Grave Rites will be administered by the V.F.W. post 5064 and the American Legion post 173.The family will receive friends on Sunday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M.
